Skills

  1. As condensed matter physicist with interests in strongly correlated electron systems and quantum magnetism, he has expertise in electrical and thermal transport and magnetic resonance. A focus of his research is on electron-spin-based quantum information processing. His contributions to this field include: the early measurements of spin coherence times in artificial nanomagnets and chemically engineering molecular qubits to optimise the properties for QIP; the exploitation of nuclei coupled to electron moments for quantum memories and gates; spin-electric couplings and STM – driven and – detected magnetic resonance of individual atoms.
