3rd annual project meeting in Santiago de Compostela

  • 10th – 11th of October 2022

This year the SPRING project members were able to gather in Santiago de Compostela for their 3rd annual meeting. The summit was filled with talks from each consortium member: CIC nanoGUNE (ES), IBM (CH), University of Santiago de Compostela (ES), Technical University of Delft (NL) and University of Oxford (UK), and Donostia International Physics Center (ES).

The agenda went from topics about “Design and synthesis of precursors for triangulene precursors”, over to “Radical molecules in solid-state junctions”, and “Quantum control of nuclear spin ensembles via hyperfine interaction”. After each session, the chairman of the respective work packages started a topic related open discussion including every participant of the gathering. In this way specific questions could be clarified, new assumptions were raised, and scientific ideas shared.

This two full-day meeting was a great opportunity to connect and to strengthen communication, as well as to share knowledge among the participating scientists for first time after the COVID pandemic: the last in-person meeting was the Kickoff-Meeting in late 2019, due to the COVID restrictions.

We would like to thank Prof. Diego Peña and his team for organising this scientific meeting and the visit of the Santiago de Compostela old town tour, including the rooftop visit of the cathedral.
